Arnside Tennis Club is a small, inclusive and friendly club based in the scenic village of Arnside on the edge of the Kent Estuary, between Carnforth and Kendal. In 2021 the club was awarded “Cumbria Tennis Club of 2021” and our Coach, James Wright was awarded “Cumbria Development Coach of 2021”. We have two Astroturf courts at the club, one which is floodlit. The Club offers social and competitive tennis for all ages and abilities.

We welcome new members and those wishing to play on a casual “pay and play” basis, who can book a court via our online booking system. Arnside Tennis Club competes in a number of different local league teams, including, men’s, ladies, mixed and a Veterans winter league.

We actively promote junior coaching summer sessions and encourage children and parents to come along and give it a try. James also provides weekly adult group coaching sessions for members during the season. Social tennis is available weekday mornings from 9.30am, Wednesday Evenings from 6pm & Sunday Afternoons from 3pm, starting at 2pm during the Winter months.

Membership

The annual subscription fee is £120 for Seniors (adults), £15 for Juniors, £45 for Students/Unemployed & £230 for Family Membership (Please note all under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.) We also offer country membership for £80 if your home address is more than 30 miles from the club. Please download our membership form below. Social Tennis - Sundays

Social tennis is available from 3pm on a Sunday during summer months. Please read our guidelines below for using the tennis courts.

Coaching

James Wright is busy planning our coaching sessions for the 2026 season. He is hoping to run adult group coaching sessions on Monday mornings costing £10 for an hour and a half of coaching. He needs a minimum group size of 5 people. Please note members do not have to commit to a certain number of sessions, as long as he has the minimum each week.

James can also offer 1-2-1 lessons (Adults/Children). Anyone interested can contact him directly.
